# Use A2Agent Models with Continue

> This guide explains how to add A2Agent as a model provider in Continue and start using DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Qwen, MiniMax, and more.

A2Agent is a unified API gateway that provides access to multiple models through a single API endpoint and API key. Model availability, usage limits, and billing are managed through your A2Agent account.

## Prerequisites

* VS Code installed
* Continue extension installed
* An A2Agent account with an API key: [sign up at a2agent.me/register](https://a2agent.me/register)
* API request URL: `https://api.a2agent.me/v1`

## Setup

### 1. Open the Continue Config File

Click the Continue icon in the left activity bar of VS Code to open the Continue panel. Click the current model name at the bottom of the panel, then choose `Add model` or `Open config`.

The initial content looks like this. `models: []` means no models are configured yet:

```yaml theme={null}
name: Main Config
version: 1.0.0
schema: v1
models: []
```

### 2. Add A2Agent as a Model Provider

Replace `models: []` with the following:

```yaml theme={null}
name: Main Config
version: 1.0.0
schema: v1
models:
  - name: qwen3.8-max
    provider: openai
    model: qwen3.8-max
    apiBase: https://api.a2agent.me/v1
    apiKey: YOUR_A2AGENT_API_KEY
```

### 3. Select and Configure Multiple Models

The same A2Agent API key can be used for multiple models, and you can switch between them in the model picker:

```yaml theme={null}
name: Main Config
version: 1.0.0
schema: v1
models:
  - name: qwen3.8-max
    provider: openai
    model: qwen3.8-max
    apiBase: https://api.a2agent.me/v1
    apiKey: YOUR_A2AGENT_API_KEY

  - name: deepseek-v4-pro
    provider: openai
    model: deepseek-v4-pro
    apiBase: https://api.a2agent.me/v1
    apiKey: YOUR_A2AGENT_API_KEY

  - name: glm-5.3
    provider: openai
    model: glm-5.3
    apiBase: https://api.a2agent.me/v1
    apiKey: YOUR_A2AGENT_API_KEY
```

### 4. Save and Reload

1. Save `config.yaml`.
2. In VS Code, open the Command Palette with `Ctrl+Shift+P` and run `Developer: Reload Window`.
3. Open the Continue panel again.

## Start Using A2Agent Models

After saving the configuration, open the Continue panel, click the model name at the bottom of the panel, and select an A2Agent model from the model picker. You can then start chatting.

Send a simple message first to verify the connection, for example:

Hello, please reply "connection successful"
```
